Sevilla has three processions of Gloria brotherhoods this weekend, all featuring the Virgen del Rosario. The first is on Saturday, October 17, and the other two on Sunday, October 18. All three are free to attend and pass through the city centre.
Las Aguas opens on Saturday
The Hermandad de las Aguas sets out on Saturday, October 17, at 19:00 from the chapel on calle Dos de Mayo, with entry scheduled for 22:30. The route passes through Almirantazgo, Avenida de la Constitución, García de Vinuesa, Harinas, Jimios, Castelar, Puerta del Arenal, Adriano, Antonia Díaz, Real de la Carretería and Rodo, among other streets, before returning to Dos de Mayo. The Banda Municipal de Música de Mairena del Alcor accompanies the paso.
Two departures on Sunday
On Sunday, October 18, the Hermandad de Nuestra Señora de las Nieves begins its procession at 17:45 from the Iglesia de Santa María la Blanca and expects to enter at 22:30. The itinerary passes through Cano y Cueto, Paseo de Catalina Ribera, Plaza de Santa Cruz, Rodrigo Caro, Plaza del Triunfo, Plaza Virgen de los Reyes and Mateos Gago, among other streets. The Banda de Música del Maestro Tejera provides the music.
That same Sunday, the Hermandad del Rosario de San Julián sets out at 18:30 from the Iglesia de San Marcos, with entry between 22:30 and 23:00. The brotherhood processes again from San Marcos 91 years later, due to the temporary closure of the San Julián church. The route includes Bustos Tavera, Plaza de San Román, Enladrillada, Santa Paula, Pasaje Mallol, Duque Cornejo, Lira, Hiniesta and Plaza de Santa Isabel. The Banda Municipal Villa de Guillena accompanies the paso.
To follow the processions
Anyone who wants to check the details of these three Gloria brotherhoods can do so on the Gloria brotherhoods page. The processions do not require registration or a ticket: you can accompany the images in the street along their routes.
The Consejo General de Hermandades y Cofradías de la Ciudad de Sevilla announces these three events, which pass through historic spaces and streets of cofrade tradition.
