The writer Diego García Fernández will sign copies of «Pedro y su espejito» and offer a free storytelling session on November 1 at FELISE, with a craft activity for the little ones.
The writer Diego García Fernández, a native of Torrejón de Ardoz (Madrid), will bring the third edition of his children's story «Pedro y su espejito» to the Seville Book Fair (FELISE), published in hardcover by the Seville publisher Libros Indie. The work, written by García Fernández and illustrated by Paloma Rodríguez, tells the story of a boy who begins to feel insecure because of comments about his physical appearance and who, with the help of his teacher and his parents, learns to value himself and to understand that his importance goes beyond his appearance.
García Fernández is a member of the Asociación Española para la Prevención del Acoso Escolar (A.E.P.A.E.) and, as he explains, the story seeks to help families and educators work on the prevention of bullying from childhood.
Signings at the Libros Indie stall
The author will sign copies at stall 4 of Libros Indie on Thursday, October 29, from 17:00 to 21:00, and on Friday, October 30, from 11:00 to 14:00. In addition to «Pedro y su espejito», he will also sign his novel «Una entre un millón», published by the same imprint, which addresses bullying, equality, mental health and unwanted loneliness.
Storytelling with a craft activity
On Sunday, November 1, at 11:00, García Fernández will offer a free storytelling session in which each child will make a bracelet with four colours representing different aspects of their personality.
García Fernández points out that he has done more than fifty storytelling sessions and educational activities, and that he also shares cultural content on social media, where he has accumulated more than a million views. Through his interview section «Preguntas y libros» he has spoken with writers such as Santiago Díaz and David Uclés.
