The Junta de Andalucía has deactivated the Emergency Plan for Flood Risk after DANA Adam lost strength and the adverse weather warnings disappeared in the eight Andalusian provinces. The 112 Andalucía service has coordinated 696 incidents since last Saturday, as detailed by the first vice president and councillor for Presidency, Health and Emergencies, Antonio Sanz.

Sevilla returns to normal

In the province of Sevilla, 84 emergencies have been managed, the fourth highest figure in the community. Traffic has already been restored on the SE-6300, as it passes through Lebrija, where yesterday the section between kilometres 0 and 6 remained closed. Almería has been the most affected province, with 180 incidents, followed by Cádiz, with 156, and Málaga, with 154. Between the three they total 490 emergencies, more than 70 % of the total. After them are Granada, with 62; Córdoba, with 43; Jaén, with 12, and Huelva, with five.

Mostly floods and waterlogging

By type of alert, 451 incidents have been related to natural risks, above all waterlogging and flooding. There have also been 74 anomalies in basic services, 46 rescues and saves, 43 traffic incidents, 34 collapses or falling elements, 13 traffic accidents and two medical assistances, in addition to another 33 of a different nature. The last afternoon and night passed calmly, with barely a score of incidents at the end of the day and none during the early hours, Sanz has explained. The rains have also been scarce: the highest accumulations have been recorded in Vejer de la Frontera (Cádiz), with 7.4 litres per square metre.

Two roads remain closed in Córdoba

The Andalusian road network is gradually returning to normal. Only two roads in the province of Córdoba remain affected, with three closed sections:
  • The CO-4103, between kilometres 0 and 13, between Bujalance and Villa del Río.
  • The CO-4207, between kilometres 0 and 9.1, between Montilla and Montalbán de Córdoba, including the La Zarza bridge.
The Andalusian Emergency Agency asks for caution in areas where there are still effects and to respect the signage of closed roads. Sanz has thanked the public for their collaboration and has recalled that «following self-protection guidelines saves lives». The advice has been spread through social media and through two ES-Alert messages sent to the population of Almería.

What to do if there is an emergency

In the event of any incident related to the storm, you must call the emergency telephone number 112. The Junta also recommends following the indications of the emergency services and not driving on closed roads.
