The Casa de la Cultura de Alcalá del Río hosts, between October 26 and November 20, an exhibition with thirty works by twelve contemporary artists, national and international. The show is titled «Punto de Partida. Arte contemporáneo y nuevas miradas en Alcalá del Río» and is organized by the Delegación de Cultura del Ayuntamiento de Alcalá del Río and Arjé Galería, with the collaboration of the Diputación de Sevilla.

What can be seen

The participating artists are Paulus Geeve, Richard Boada, Fernando Asían, Pharuslux, Jesús Alcolea, Jorge Gonçalves, Marie Andrée Gonçalves Maldonado, Agustina Palacios, Emmanuel Luna, Saúl Galavís, Joaquín Valdeón and Napoleón Graziani. The exhibition brings together painting, watercolor, sculpture and mixed techniques. The curator, Marjorie Carrero, presents the show as a journey through different disciplines and creative sensibilities, with the idea of bringing the diversity of languages and trends of contemporary art closer to the public. According to the organizers, the common thread is not a shared theme, but the diversity and uniqueness of each creative process: each artist contributes their own technique and their particular way of making art.

Concert at the opening

The opening will feature a concert by cellist Nina Rivas together with Ángel Justo Estebaranz. The show is completed with a catalog published with the collaboration of the Diputación de Sevilla.

Who it is for

The municipal and Arjé Galería officials point out that the event is aimed at collectors, art lovers and the general public of Sevilla, Andalucía and the rest of Spain, and encourage people to visit it. The exhibition has been presented at the headquarters of the Casa de la Provincia de la Diputación de Sevilla, at an event in which the municipal councillor for Culture, Francisco José Romero; the Culture technician, Julio Velasco; the curator, Marjorie Carrero, and the cellist Nina Rivas took part.
