The San Francisco building in Cazalla de la Sierra is undergoing works to put an end to the leaks it has had for several years. The work aims to improve the condition of the facilities and allow the building to regain an adequate state of conservation, safety and operation.

Damage to wood and installations

According to the Town Council, the leaks have affected different areas of the building and have caused the deterioration of wooden elements, such as doors and floors. They have also made it necessary to shut off certain electrical installations for safety reasons. All of this has hindered the normal operation of the building and has caused problems for both the workers and the people who use its facilities.

What is being repaired

The works focus on the skylight and on the areas of the main entrance and the apse affected by the leaks. In addition, a comprehensive inspection and repair of the building's roof is being carried out.

Funding

The Town Council has obtained a grant from the Diputación de Sevilla for these actions. This line of aid is intended for the local entities of the province to carry out actions within their powers. The Council hopes that the intervention will be completed as soon as possible and will allow adequate conditions of conservation, safety and functionality to be restored, so that the building can continue to normally host the activities it houses.
