The El Abrazo venue in La Rinconada has hosted this weekend the nineteenth edition of the RedCreaJoven Festival, which has brought together more than 8,000 people, according to the La Rinconada City Council. Around 400 young people and collectives took part in the event, showing their talent and creativity.

A programme for all audiences

The festival has offered a varied programme designed for all audiences and to be shared with the family. It has featured an art market with more than 65 artisans and a stage area with modern dance performances, rap acts, a battle of the bands and a Pop Rock contest. There has also been a workshops area ranging from watercolour, clay, illustrations, charm making, press customisation, introduction to skating, character makeup and batukada. Game areas and workshops for children, tattoo stands, board games, an exhibition of photographs from the «Callejeando por tu pueblo» contest, Warhammer, and slalom skating and drone soccer exhibitions were also added.

The winners

In the «Callejeando por tu pueblo» photography contest, Celia Vidal Peinado has won first prize and Manuel Andrade Alcazar second. In the Pop-Rock contest, in the general category, Bleem has won, followed by Nuevo Berlín; in the local category, Pelidemiedo has taken first prize, followed by Arcane and Yuxia. In the battle of the bands, Pitudood has been crowned, ahead of Nacho Rg. Music brought the event to a close with the Fiestazo de La Rinconada, organised by COPE, which turned Saturday night into a celebration to the rhythm of Sara de Las Chuches, Rasel and DJ Monchi.

A consolidated event

The delegate for Youth and Children, Mercedes Bueno, has stated that the festival was born from an initiative by local young creators linked to urban art and that, 19 editions later, it has become a consolidated event that continues to grow without losing its essence. Bueno has indicated that the aim is for the festival to remain a space built with and for young people, that boosts their talent and creativity and generates synergies between creators from La Rinconada and the entire region.
