Amber is the star these days in Valencina de la Concepción. The Casa de la Cultura – Museo de Valencina is hosting the exhibition «La magia del ámbar», which can be visited from October 29 to November 12, 2026. The exhibition is part of the town's 20th Archaeological Conference. The tour explores the properties and origins of amber, the techniques that have been used to work it and the archaeological contexts in which it has been found. On that basis, the exhibition sets out to reveal the value and symbolism this material has had throughout history, according to the Valencina de la Concepción Town Council. Visiting hours are Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00, and Saturdays and Sundays mornings only, from 10:00 to 14:00.

A conference now in its twentieth edition

The exhibition accompanies the 20th Archaeological Conference, held from October 29 to 31. The portal reported on October 21 that the programme includes lectures, round tables and guided tours to bring the archaeological heritage of Valencina and the challenges of its protection closer to the public. Among the topics planned are citizen participation in the World Heritage declaration, safeguard plans, the COSMOS project and the preliminary results of the excavations. For Saturday, October 31, guided tours were announced to the Museo de Valencina, to this same amber exhibition and to the Matarrubilla megalith. Those activities were free and subject to the venue's capacity. Anyone who wants to visit the amber exhibition can do so during the hours indicated at the Casa de la Cultura – Museo de Valencina de la Concepción until November 12.
