Ezequiel Benítez opens the Noviembre Flamenco of Mairena on November 12
The cantaor from Jerez performs at the Teatro Calixto Sánchez with tickets at 5 euros that go on sale from November 9.

The cantaor from Jerez Ezequiel Benítez opens on November 12 the Noviembre Flamenco programme of Mairena del Alcor, organised around International Flamenco Day, which is celebrated on November 16, the date on which UNESCO declared this expression Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The recital will be at the Teatro Calixto Sánchez and tickets cost 5 euros. They are part of the cultural season pass.
Tickets go on sale on November 9 at 9:00.
The seminar and the gala
The IX Seminario Antonio Mairena is held on November 13 and 14, with talks on the role of women in cante and the contest. It is closed by the cantaor Antonio Hermosín. Registration opens on November 4 at 9:00 at the seminar page.
On November 18 comes the Gala Temple y Pureza at the Teatro Municipal Calixto Sánchez, with live interviews, cante and the participation of Manuel Castulo, Jesús Méndez and Luis Perdiguero. Invitations are distributed on November 9 from 9:00, online and in person at the Villa del Conocimiento y las Artes. The maximum is two invitations per person.
The Viernes Jondos season starts on November 27 at the Casa del Arte Flamenco Antonio Mairena, with the cantaora Inés Bacán.
Workshops in the schools
The programme includes the workshops «Al cante en la escuela» and «Vivir y sentir el flamenco», of initiation and dissemination, at the schools Juan Caraballo and Isabel Esquivel, in collaboration with the Fundación Cristina Heeren.
The councillor for Flamenco, Javier Rodríguez, has presented the calendar, according to the Ayuntamiento de Mairena del Alcor, which encourages citizens to take part.
