The Vistalegre Periurban Park in Utrera is gaining upgraded space. The second phase of the works covers 83,600 square metres in the area around the SE-424 road, the old Los Molares road, next to Francisco Salado Garcés street, and continues the first phase of the project.

What is being built

The works include new paths and pedestrian routes to connect the different points of the park and make it easier to move around inside it. New vegetation, landscaping work and pergolas to create shaded areas are also being added. The land is divided into two large areas separated by a canal. The works cover both and use the existing bridges so that the park works as a single area connected on foot. According to the City Council, the intervention respects the existing trees and the natural layout of the land: the works keep the current levels practically unchanged to reduce the visual impact and favour landscape integration.

Improvements to the facilities

In addition to the landscaping, improvements are being made to the site's infrastructure. These include the expansion of the supply network, with new sections that will allow loops to be closed and improve the distribution of supply in this space. The project has an expected execution period of ten months and is part of the 2023 Programme for the Promotion of Agricultural Employment (PFEA).

A pending subsidy

The City Council has asked the Junta de Andalucía for a subsidy of 273,953 euros for new climate change adaptation actions in this same area. That funding is pending approval and would allow the park's wooded areas to be expanded. If granted, the combined investment in the space would reach 1.29 million euros.

What needs to be done

There is no procedure or deadline open for residents: these are public works in progress. Information on their development is provided by the Utrera City Council.
