The Local Historical Heritage Commission has approved the eight items of its October session, among them the refurbishment of the central island of the Plaza de España and the restoration of the statue of Clemente de la Cuadra, a work by Antonio Susillo.
The Plaza de España roundabout in Utrera will change its appearance. The Local Historical Heritage Commission (CLPH) has given the go-ahead to the refurbishment of the central island, which includes the redesign of the paving and improvements to irrigation and lighting. In the same space, the statue dedicated to Clemente de la Cuadra, a work by the sculptor Antonio Susillo, will be restored; it needs repairs due to the passage of time.
Homes and plots
The commission has also approved the work on the exposed party walls of two plots on avenida de M.ª Auxiliadora. As for private projects, authorization has been given for the demolition of a building on calle Albarrán, which will be replaced by another for single-family residential use with a commercial unit; the installation of a swimming pool in the courtyard of a home on calle Abades; and modifications to the refurbishment works of a single-family home on calle Don Clemente de la Cuadra to convert it into a building with four homes, a commercial unit and a garage.

In the Salón Alemán, the wooden enclosure with stained glass that opens onto the terrace over the Jardín Romántico will be restored. Inside, which according to the Town Hall is in a very good state of conservation, the tone of the wood will be recovered in some areas, cracks and joints will be repaired, fittings will be secured and a treatment against wood-boring insects will be applied, among other actions. For the Salón Pompeyano, the sketch with the iconography of the missing images has been approved to complete the three glass pieces of the room's stained-glass window.
