The Montellano Town Council has approved in Plenary a project worth 201,215.80 euros to restore and improve several natural areas in the Sierra. The investment is funded by a grant from the Diputación de Sevilla's Stable Employment Plan and allocates more than 141,000 euros to labour, according to the Council.

Five actions in the Sierra

The project includes five interventions focused on the conservation, conditioning and improvement of paths and recreational areas. The first is the improvement of the Sierra trails, to offer better-kept and safer paths to those who travel through this area. The second action is the adaptation of the La Cruz trail, in order to make it easier to use for people with reduced mobility, elderly people and families with small children. The access path to the Castillo de Cote will also be restored, to improve the conditions for arriving at this heritage site. The other two interventions are the renovation of the recreational area, with improvements to its facilities, and the conditioning of Tesorillo, where a new parking area will be set up and benches, litter bins and bicycle parking will be installed.

Local employment and enjoyment of the surroundings

The Town Council states that the initiative seeks to promote local employment and continue improving this natural setting for the enjoyment of residents. Most of the budget, more than 141,000 euros, is allocated to labour. The project has been approved in Plenary and has funding from the Diputación de Sevilla's Stable Employment Plan.
