Mairena del Alcor Town Council is promoting the new El Prior Civic Centre, a space with a library, study rooms and premises for workshops and meetings that seeks to respond to the demands of the neighbourhood and local groups.
The El Prior neighbourhood in Mairena del Alcor will have a new Civic Centre. According to the Town Council, the facility will offer a meeting point for the neighbourhood and for the rest of the municipality, with services designed for the daily life of those who live there.
What the centre will offer
The building will include a library and study rooms for children and young people from the neighbourhood and nearby areas. It will also have multipurpose spaces for meetings, workshops and associational life, and will provide logistical support to the community, facilitating the organisation of events such as the Cabalgata de Reyes Magos.
The Town Council explains that the aim is to respond to local groups and create spaces for coexistence, in line with the Integrated Action Plan and the Mairena + strategy.
Co-financed with European funds
The project is co-financed by the European Union through the ERDF Funds, as detailed by the Council. The construction of the centre is thus presented as an action with European backing within the municipal strategy.
The voice of the neighbourhood
The Town Council has gathered the vision of the Asociación de Vecinos del Prior, through Antonio, to learn what the centre will mean for the neighbourhood. The Council also poses an open question to the public about what activities or workshops should be developed in the new space.
