Ten circus, dance, puppet, visual theatre, live music and oral storytelling shows for family audiences. That is what the 32nd edition of the Performing Arts Festival for Children of La Rinconada proposes, held from November 12 to 20, as detailed by the municipality's City Council.
The performances are shared between the Centro Cultural de La Villa and the Estrasburgo and Quintero, León y Quiroga parks, the latter two in the centre of Rinconada. The festival moves partly to the street due to the renovation works at the Antonio Gala theatre.
Tickets can already be purchased on the website entradas.larinconada.es, at the Centro Cultural de La Villa from Monday to Friday from 10.00 to 13.00 hours or at the box office from one hour before each performance. The single price is 3 euros. The shows held in the parks are free entry.
A programme with nature and diversity as the protagonists
The programme starts on Thursday, November 12 with two proposals: La Banda de Otro and their show «Yee Haw», at 17.00 hours in the Estrasburgo park, and «Bzzz», by MOSAICOLLECTIVE and Danza Mobile, at 18.00 hours at La Villa.
On Friday, November 13, Xip Xap Teatre brings «Transhumancia» to the Quintero, León y Quiroga park at 17.00 hours. On Saturday 14, Minusmal presents «Simplemente Clara» in the Estrasburgo park at 17.00 hours, and on Sunday 15, Cía David Cebrián stages «WC» in the same park at 12.00 hours.
At La Villa, Flash Teatro offers «Luche, una vida de perro» on Monday 16 at 18.00 hours; Spasmo Teatro presents «Bichitos» on Tuesday 17 at the same time; La Maquiné brings «¡Soy salvaje!» on Wednesday 18; Zen del Sur stages «Xpectro» on Thursday 19, and Aracaladanza closes the programme on Friday 20 with «Va de Bach». All these performances are at 18.00 hours.
The themes addressed by the works range from the need to communicate and managing emotions to respect for the natural environment and biodiversity, diversity and the visibility of realities such as autism and neurodivergences.
A children's jury made up of eight boys and girls between 9 and 11 years old, from the students of La Incubadora del CRAES, will see each of the shows and decide the best ones, which will be awarded at the Alcides Awards Gala, held on December 28.
The Culture delegate, Raquel Vega, has stated that the ten proposals «are not only entertainment, but tools to raise awareness and foster critical thinking in the youngest».
