The tourism resources of Pedrera and Gilena will form part of the Gamified Digital Tourism Viewpoint of the Estepa Region, a web platform that will bring together the main tourism, cultural and heritage attractions of the eleven municipalities of the Functional Urban Area of Estepa: Aguadulce, Badolatosa, Casariche, Estepa, Gilena, Herrera, Lora de Estepa, Marinaleda, Pedrera, La Roda de Andalucía and El Rubio.
The vice-president of INPRO, Antonio Jesús Muñoz Quirós, has met with the mayor of Pedrera, Lucía Ruiz, and with the mayor of Gilena, José Manuel Ruiz, to make progress on incorporating the resources of both municipalities. Members of the technical team of the provincial company also took part in the meetings.
What the platform will offer
The tool will include high-quality photographs, panoramas, virtual visits and 360-degree tours. It also plans the three-dimensional digitisation of certain heritage pieces and a virtual guide to consult information and discover each locality.
To this are added game resources aimed especially at families and young people, with activities to explore the heritage in a participatory way. The platform will serve both to prepare the trip and to consult information during the visit.
The project envisages a regional tourism viewpoint and eleven interconnected municipal viewpoints, with a planned investment of 300.000 euros co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
Visits to the sites
In addition to the working meetings, the INPRO representatives have visited various spaces and sites of interest in both municipalities to learn about their characteristics and study their possible inclusion in the platform. These visits serve to identify the resources that will form part of the tool and to prepare the contents for their digital dissemination.
In this first phase, INPRO will work together with the town councils on selecting the sites and defining the contents of each resource, from photographs and explanatory texts to virtual visits and interactive tours.
The contents generated will also be integrated into Patrici@, the heritage platform of the province of Seville, and into the Smart Platform for Tourist Destinations of the Province of Seville, which will broaden their possibilities for dissemination and consultation.
Who is driving the project
The initiative is driven by the Diputación de Sevilla through INPRO and its Digital Transformation Office.
