The Ayuntamiento de Morón de la Frontera now has the renovation project for the future Municipal Flamenco Centre, which will be installed in the building of the former Policía Nacional station, at number 6 on calle Carrera. The project is the previous step to adapting the building to its new cultural function.
What uses the building will have
The centre will be a space for interpretation, conservation and promotion of flamenco, a cultural expression deeply rooted in the municipality, according to the Ayuntamiento. The project has been drawn up by the local architect Ezequiel Ríos and is based on the functional programme planned for a flamenco interpretation centre.
What the works will be like
The intervention proposes a façade of straight lines, with a predominance of solid surfaces and attention to natural lighting. The design and materials seek to integrate the building into the historic centre and to maintain the openings and composition of the existing façade.
The deterioration of some elements makes action necessary. The project envisages replacing the pitched roof, which is in very poor condition, with another of similar characteristics, and reinforcing and selectively replacing the intermediate floor slab of the first floor. It also plans to adjust the interior layout and renew the drainage, water supply, electricity, air conditioning and ventilation installations, as well as new finishes, claddings and interior and exterior carpentry.
Who pays for the project
The drafting of the project has been funded with 17.790 euros from the Plan Más Sevilla of the Diputación Provincial, within the municipal investments of the Más Sevilla and 107 plans, as detailed by the Consistorio.
