The Real Alcázar de Sevilla hosts on October 16 and 17, at 21:00 hours, the premiere of 'FAUNO', a symphonic-lyric ballet that brings together dance, symphonic music, singing and dramaturgy. The Patio de la Montería will be the stage for this newly created work, according to the Ayuntamiento de Sevilla.

Free invitations for the people of Seville

The Patronato del Real Alcázar will distribute 1,000 free invitations, 500 for each of the two performances. They are intended exclusively for people born or resident in Seville, are nominal and for one person only, and each one gives access only to the performance and date corresponding to it. The invitations for the performance on Friday, October 16 may be collected on Monday, October 12, from 18:00 hours, at the Real Alcázar ticket office. Those for the performance on Saturday, October 17 will be handed out on Tuesday, October 13, also from 18:00 hours and at the same ticket office. Birth or residence in Seville must be proven.

Who is behind the show

The music and lyric texts are by Manuel Marvizón Carvallo, inspired by the story 'El Fauno Encendido o los Sueños de Laura', by Francisco Infante Florido, with adaptation and dramatization by José Antonio Francés. Musical direction is by Francisco Javier Gutiérrez Juan, and the choreography and the leading role of the Fauno, by Sergio Bernal. The cast of dancers is completed by Miriam Mendoza (Laura), José Manuel Benítez (Rafael) and María Gómez (Carmen). In the vocal section, soprano Rocío Ignacio, tenor Andrés Sánchez Joglar and Esperanza Garrido as flamenco voice take part, together with the Coro de la Asociación Amigos del Teatro Maestranza. The work tells the story of Laura and Rafael, two young lovers whose destiny changes when Laura drinks from a cursed fountain in the territory of the Fauno. The vice-president of the Patronato del Real Alcázar, Juan Bueno, notes that the choice of the venue responds to an artistic conception in which «the heritage ceases to be a mere backdrop to become fully integrated into the narrative».

How to get an invitation

The invitations are free, nominal and for one person only, and only people born or resident in Seville may request them, proving that condition. They are collected at the Real Alcázar ticket office: on Monday, October 12 from 18:00 hours for the performance on Friday 16, and on Tuesday, October 13 from 18:00 hours for the one on Saturday 17. 500 are distributed for each performance.
