The Tomares Film Forum continues with the screening of "Modern Times", the 1936 classic directed by and starring Charles Chaplin. The event is at 18:00 at the Auditorio Municipal Rafael de León and admission is free.
According to the Ayuntamiento de Tomares, the film marks the transition toward sound cinema. Although Chaplin resisted giving a voice to his character, Charlot, it is the first time the audience hears his voice singing an improvised and unintelligible melody. The cast also includes Paulette Goddard and Henry Bergman.
The session will be introduced and coordinated by film director, producer and screenwriter Guillermo Rojas and film critic Paco Gómez Zayas, who will moderate the subsequent discussion with the audience.
