Five residents of Écija will portray the Three Kings, the Royal Postman and the Star of the East in the Parade on January 5, 2027. The mayor, Silvia Heredia, announced their names this Wednesday, November 4. Ignacio Maza Rodríguez will be Melchor. A businessman linked to the city's economic development, he has been Hermano Mayor of the Hermandad del Rocío. Antonio Victorio Encina will bring Gaspar to life: he is a businessman in the hospitality and nightlife sector and marks 50 years in the profession. José Antonio Márquez Díaz will be Baltasar, a haulier with his own fleet for national and international transport, linked to the Hermandad de la Sangre and one of the organisers of the Encuentro Nacional de Camiones Ciudad de Écija, which this year reaches its eighth edition. The young designer Jorge Vega Fuentes will be the Royal Postman. His career, according to the Ayuntamiento, includes the Carnaval, the Hermandad de la Piedad, social work and the educational community. Antonio Jiménez Pastor will be the Star of the East: he has been part of the PRODIS family since 1988, is one of the longest-serving users of the occupational centre and plays on the Écija SuperStars basketball team.

A committee with neighbourhood representation

The choice falls to the Three Kings Committee, made up of two representatives of the Asociación de Cabalgata de los Reyes Magos, one from the Consejo de Hermandades, one from the neighbourhood associations and two from the Ayuntamiento: the delegate for Fiestas Mayores and the mayor. The inclusion of the neighbourhood associations responds to a request that had been raised for years.
