The Teatro Municipal de Casariche hosts this Saturday, October 17, the last day of the II International Short Film Festival on Social Justice and Human Rights, Atalaya Fest. The venue will reopen its doors for a day of cinema, stories and young talent, according to the Ayuntamiento de Casariche.
A programme of four events
The day starts at 12:00 with the «Impulso» session, a new feature of this second edition designed to give young people a leading role. It screens five short films made and directed by them.
At 13:00 comes a talk and discussion, a space to talk, share impressions and see cinema from another perspective.
In the afternoon the award-winning works of this edition will be announced, with the awards ceremony at 17:00. The festival closes at 19:00 with the closing event, which brings to an end three days of short films, stories and reflection on social justice and human rights.
Five shorts by young filmmakers
The «Impulso» section brings together five pieces directed by young people. According to the call published by the Ayuntamiento on October 13, they are «Los pájaros», by Francisco Expósito; «¡Hasta enterrarlos!», by Marco Araujo; «El puto amo», by the brothers Sergio Sánchez-Palencia and Bruno Sánchez-Palencia; «Raíces», by Nerea Muñoz; and «La carga invisible», by Edu Muñoa.
