The Caminos de Pasión tourist route closed 2026 with 70 cultural and liturgical events spread across its ten municipalities and more than 80 establishments in the eleventh edition of its Cuisine and Confectionery Route. These are two of the figures that the association has put on the table at its Ordinary Assembly, in which it has also reviewed the accounts for the year and set the lines of work, the budget and the fees for 2027. The project "Días de Cuaresma en Caminos de Pasión" has been one of the axes of the year, together with 19 proposals for themed guided tours. To take it further, the entity has made media presentations, social media campaigns and collaborations with content creators. Its dissemination campaign exceeded 8,000 views in one week, according to the association.

A brochure to break out of the season

To spread the arrival of visitors throughout the calendar, the association has published the brochure Pasión 365, which brings together guided tours about Holy Week available throughout the year. At the same time, it has renewed the brochures for the route and for each municipality, prepared a press dossier, created new audiovisual content and updated its website, as well as producing a video that presents Holy Week as a living cultural manifestation beyond the week itself. External promotion has gone through professional meetings such as FITUR and other specialised events on religious and nature tourism, and through press trips to raise awareness of the municipalities' resources and the Sendero GR 341. On that trail there is still work pending: the association acknowledges that maintenance actions are missing on some sections in Córdoba, Sevilla and Jaén.

Écija and its Cuaresma

Écija maintains an active participation in the route. Its Cuaresma programme combines cultural, heritage and gastronomic activities and is complemented by the Cuisine and Confectionery Route and by promotional actions before media, tour operators and sector professionals. The association stresses the weight of its master craftsmen, of its traditional gastronomy —with marroquíes sponge cakes among the products cited—, of the routes through churches and heritage spaces and of its imagery. In the research section, the entity has carried out, together with the Escuela Universitaria de Osuna, a study on the social, cultural and tourist impact of the brotherhoods and confraternities, and has organised the academic conference Caminos de la religiosidad: patrimonio, identidad y expresiones culturales en Andalucía. It also maintains its presence in the European Network of Holy Week and Easter Celebrations and in Cultural Routes of Spain.
